On April 10, New Zealand Management Academies (NZMA) officially opened their massive (8000 square metre) newly refurbished Trades Campus in Auckland’s Mt Wellington with the goal of addressing the shortage of qualified trades people.
Fitted out with brand new classrooms, workshops, and lab, the purpose-built site will be a hub for students wanting to learn trades skills in South Auckland.
Programmes are available in the hub in Construction, Electrical Engineering, Painting and Plastering, Plumbing, Gasfitting and Drain Laying, and Youth Guarantee Level 2.
The best way to learn about the construction industry is to do it, and NZMA not only gives its students building experience , they also have a team of careers specialists who assist students in finding the right job once trained up.
Not just the construction industry
NZMA trains for more than the construction industry alone. The business has ten campuses around the North Island, including the newly opened Rotorua campus which serves the hospitality trade.
Six campuses are in Auckland (Sylvia Park, Auckland City, Manukau and Otahuhu), one in Hamilton and Wellington, plus the refurbished construction training facility. These realistic workplace training environments are designed get you work-ready and on the road to earning real money.
Each year the group also run NZMA Careers Expo where trainees in the fields of Hospitality, Cookery, Retail, Business, Contact Centre, Trades, Early Childhood, Health, Pharmacy and Floristry can meet prospective employers.
