Ceremonies at both the Mokoia Campus in Rotorua and the Windermere Campus in Tauranga have marked the official blessing of the Bay of Plenty’s newest tertiary institute, Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology (Toi Ohomai).
The official ceremonies mean the former Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga and Rotorua’s Waiariki Institute of Technology are now one institution. Toi Ohomai will be home to over 14,000 students, and with 1,000 staff it is the largest tertiary provider in the region as well as the third largest technical institute in the country.
